Installations > Reluctant as any landscape @ Soil Gallery

"Reluctant as any landscape” is an exhibition of abstract paintings on handmade wallpaper. The title comes from the poem "Self-portrait in a convex mirror" by John Ashbery. The poem can be read as a treatise on looking. Sometimes one’s looking is informed by art history and sometimes by digestion. As an artist I am deeply curious in how an image is created and how looking creates value. In this version of my exploring I bring together objects on a background that support and tussle with each other.
